CRONKITE'S 'SOLUTION'

Arnold Ahlert
NEW YORK Post Opinion
January 19, 2006

WALTER Cronkite's latest outburst proves there's no fool like an old fool. "It is my belief we should get out (of Iraq) now," said Cronkite — exactly the same "solution" he advocated when America was attempting to stop the spread of communism in Southeast Asia.

To this day, Cronkite and his fellow travelers still bask in the glow of their successful orchestration of America's withdrawal from Vietnam, characterizing our military defeat there as a "great moral victory." To this day, they, along with a compliant media, refuse to own up to the consequences of that "victory": millions upon millions of Vietnamese, Thai and Cambodian people tortured, imprisoned, refugeed — and slaughtered by communist thugs.

That was genocide — no matter how hard the left tries to minimize or obscure it. Isn't one "great moral victory" more than enough?
