NIO has continued to grow. September set a big new monthly sales record for the company, and the 3rd quarter set a big new quarterly sales record for the company.

NIO delivered 34,749 vehicles in September across its three brands — NIO, ONVO, and firefly — which was a 64.1% increase year over year.

In the 3rd quarter, NIO delivered 87,071 vehicles to customers, a 40.8% increase year over year. Some good news there is that the company’s September sales growth was bigger than its 3rd quarter sales growth, indicating accelerating sales growth.

NIO is getting closer to the massive 1 million vehicle milestone, with 872,785 vehicles delivered since the company was founded. At its current rate of sales, the company should reach 1 million vehicle deliveries in the 1st quarter of 2026.

Below are charts (interactive and static) of the company’s monthly and quarterly sales. Then I’ll jump into a more detailed breakdown by brand.

As far as the brand breakdown, in September, there were 13,728 NIO brand deliveries, 15,246 ONVO deliveries, and 5,775 firefly deliveries. The company describes those brands as such: NIO — “premium smart electric vehicle brand,” ONVO — “family-oriented smart electric vehicle brand,” firefly — “small smart high-end electric car brand.”

The coming months should be very strong ones for NIO, as the company’s upgraded flagship SUV, the ES8, was just launched on September 20 and it’s super hot, with many sales coming in immediately. “Built upon NIO’s decade-long technological achievements, the All-New ES8 represents the pinnacle of the latest smart EV technologies and is well positioned to lead large three-row SUVs into the battery electric era,” the company writes. “Setting a new benchmark for the premium large three-row battery electric SUVs, the All-New ES8 offers users a refined, safe, and seamless experience on every journey towards a new horizon.
