No one ever thinks of spending less except for the citizens who pay the bulk of the taxes. The legislatures pay lip service to us but depend on the lightly or un taxed voters to keep their jobs.

They all want our money. I saw how this worked when I was president of a Homeowner's association in the 60s and our county supervisor would us to support the levying of special district taxes. These were a few pennys a thousand, but they added up.

I will never forget setting in a meeting with our board members where everyone said, "oh, keep the tax the same, if we lower it, we will have a tough time raising it later."

That was back in the 60s, before I went anarchist. :>)
