There was a story in the news this week about a brand new wind electricity generating plant being set up in Washington, and I've already seen the one over by Kennewick. They really mess up the landscape, although not much more than the powerlines that radiate from all the hydroelectric generators and certainly less than the dams.

I've seen the blades being trucked through our town on the way to the site. They are so big it takes a long flatbed semi trailer to haul just one of them. Every tower has three, and there are hundreds of towers in an installation.

Trojan Nuclear Plant, on the other hand, had one cooling tower that you could see for miles. They tore it down this year.

How come France is not afraid of nuclear power? They seem to be afraid of everything else.
