Lies - Aggressive marketing --- a thin line (Oracle)
-----------
Weblogic Enterprise, while it is best known for J2EE & Java, also supports C/C++/Cobol programs, Corba interoperability. Much more beyond Oracle's App Server. The extra support Oracle really refer to - is programming using Oracle PL/SQL, a stored procedure language, proprietary to Oracle. They really are desperate!

New Promotion Helps BEA Developers Go Beyond Java

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., April 4 /PRNewswire/ -- (http://www.oracle.com/tellmemore/?642149) Oracle Corporation (Nasdaq: ORCL - news) today announced a special promotion to help developers get beyond the limitations of the Java-only BEA application server. Starting today, developers can log onto Oracle.com and download a free Oracle9i(TM) Application Server (Oracle9iAS) e-starter kit, which includes a free trial sample of Oracle9iAS, business and technical overviews and other educational materials. With Oracle9iAS, Oracle's 1.4 million developers benefit from the latest Internet technologies, including a J2EE component framework, end-to-end XML support, Web services technology, and a single deployment platform for Java, XML and SQL applications tightly integrated with Oracle Internet Developer Suite tools. In addition, only Oracle9iAS gives developers access to development and deployment technologies for business intelligence, enterprise portals, wireless, B2B collaboration and integration. And, for developers who want instant access to all the resources they need to push their skills and knowledge beyond the cutting edge, Oracle will soon launch iDevelop2001, the industry's first worldwide 100% online service dedicated to training and certifying Internet developers worldwide -- 24 hours a day, seven days a week. No wonder Oracle developers outnumber BEA's seven to one.
