well, not quite the same day, the "bad" news was 8/4 from EBN and the "good" news 8/6 from SBN. apparently the market is excited over a seven pct gain over the dismal year ago qtr. larry, i think i'll just resort to the old street standby explanation, when all else just baffles - "multiple expansion (contraction)". i.e. there is a very elastic rubber band that connects the market price of the stock with the underlying business of the company. sometimes it "stretches" and sometimes it "snaps" back. right now, its "stretching" due to any number of reasons well covered by the smart commentators on this board. but one reason that i can't quite fathom is the excitement over sub thousand dollar boxes with 64mb and win98 in every house and office cubicle. it's as if this will be around the corner, never mind that homes below 50k income are very hard to penetrate. until megs of bandwidth provide genuinely new forms of entertainment... -r
