2 and a half years after toppling the government in what the Neocons thought would be an 'easy' war, this is the incredible mess that exists there. Now it seems that we're at war with Iran and Syria.

Who said it would ever be "easy"? I don't believe any Neo-con thought creating a stable Iraq would be easy.

But in fact, toppling Saddam WAS relatively easy. I think the facts speak for themselves to that extent.

But what's NOT easy is fighting off the powerful, and well armed, tribal and clan interests that were so integral to ANY form of politics in Iraq.

As for corruption.. it's a WAY OF LIFE here.. Where's your outrage at the oil for food scandal, which is responsible for even more money going "missing".

We have some massive corruption in the UN and you're somehow "astonished" that there might be corruption in Iraq?

And no one going to sit here and tell you democracy will eliminate corruption. Because it won't. But it sure as hell stands a better chance of quelling it than some dictatorial and non-accountable governmental system.

And btw, Iran says they would never use violence against another state.. They said it just the other day..

Right after their president publicly said that Israel should be wiped off the face of the map..
