I want to know how many dollars were raised through tax hikes vs. the number of dollars the deficit was reduced. Perhaps you know?

What are you giving me assignments now? Here's a net for you. In 1992 the deficit was $290-billion. In fiscal year 2000, bush inherited a surplus of $237-billion. In that time period, tax revenues grew from 17.4 percent of the GDP to 20.5 percent. You can do the math.

But that was not the point. You made accusations that Clinton made no difficult choices and he was driven by polls. Would you call reducing taxes and embittering the deficit a more difficult and poll unfriendly choice than increasing taxes to improve the fiscal posture of the nation?
