Apple (AAPL) Typically Trades Lower on Day of iPhone Event and Day of Launch - Piper Jaffray

Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster weighed in on Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) shares ahead of the iPhone
event on September 9th and official launch date. Munster notes that based on historical trading patterns
shares could see some slight headwinds on both the day of the event and the day of the launch.

"Based on data from every iPhone event and launch from the 3G to the 5S/5C, we note that shares of AAPL
have typically traded down on both event days when the new iPhone is announced and the actual launch
of the phone," Munster notes. "For the day of the iPhone event, AAPL has traded down an average of 1.2%
over the past 6 launches with a range of down 2.8% to up 0.4%. For the iPhone launch day, AAPL has
traded down an average of 0.4% with a range of down 2.2% to up 1.2%."

Shares fare better between the day after the event and the launch date. "We note that shares of AAPL
have traded up an average of 1.9% between the day after the event and the launch of iPhones with a
range of down 5.5% to up 13.3%."
