Its not minutia. Krugman's statements where both false and misleading. Krugman claimed that growth in CA's spending "was simply a matter of keeping up with the population and inflation," when real per capita spending was growing at 13.4%.

Apparently, he made a mathematical error and said 10% instead of 13.4%......his point still stands and still makes good sense. Like I said, its typical Nat. Rev. small minded nitpicking. They're technically right but so what.......it doesn't change the jist of the article.

Krugman asserted that "Salon.com has learned Bush is being bribed by the energy industry to delay on global warming." Krugman inisisted that 1 - The economy was not recovering and 2 - That this was do to Bush's tax cuts but -

Did the energy industry not contribute significantly to Bush's campaign? Does not Bush's actions reversing oil industry legislation in favor of the industry suggest that Bush is acting like a man who has been "bribed"? It does to me.......or close to it. Once again the Nat. Review is splitting hairs.
