I never understood what the problem is with able bodied people continuing to work past the arbitrary "retirement age".

I don't either; but frankly, that won't solve the problem.

SS is actuarily unsound and always has been. Any such program will eventually fail; it is just a question of "when".

The problem is that it is failing quickly. The ONLY solution is privatization, and it has to be done QUICKLY. Einstein may have called compound interest the "most powerful force in the universe", but there is one truth -- it only gains its power when it has more than 30 years to work, and really shines when it has 50 or more years to work. As it is now, massive borrowing will be required to bridge the liability for 20 or 30 years. Ten years from now, it will be too late.

Make no mistake. This is a POLITICAL PROBLEM caused by the liberals, WHO CONSTANTLY USE IT AS THE BASIS FOR SCARE ATTACKS AGAINST THE REPUBLICANS.
