Regarding the $500/day, once you get going, that sounds like a nice, reasonable goal. Everyone's goal is different... to a good computer consultant, he'd probably want more like $700-$800/day to be economically happy... For a cook, $300 might be great. As with everything (goals, time invested, methods, etc.) in daytrading... it has to be suitable for the individual.
