I dont really know enoght about stem cells to comment personally, however I have talked with my son who works for N.I.H. and is far more familiar with the state of the art then most of us. His bitch is this: he says, Dad, it really irritates me that so much is made of this embryonic stem cell research. First off, its all HOPE not one SUCCESSFUL research has happened, its still in the THEORY stage, yet they raise allt these peoples hopes. Seconly, we have adequate supply of ADULT stem cell lines for now until we find if this is DOABLE or not. Then we can argue about embryonic stem cells. Finally, plenty of money is being spent PRIVATELY on embryonic stem cells, this is all a SMOKE SCREEN by people wanting to GORGE on the Government for a still UNPROVEN research. jdn
