It won't work. They lose people when the pork barrel is on the line, as well as the fact that their whining is so stale even the media sees through it now.

Evidence of Democrat panic: These sewer rats couldn't care less if Condit is unworthy to serve. Never bothered them with Clinton, and now it's habit. But they know that the "Condit image" is rubbing off on all of them, and their debacle will be even worse if he's around next month. So they're willing to give up a House seat to get rid of him. Their biggest fear now: He'll stay and fight. The district elected him, and there's no easy way to get rid of him until the next election.

The Democrats are going to lose-big time-in the next Congressional act of Sept./Oct. and they already know it. Their hope is to position themselves to use some of the losses as campaign issues. It's along shot. But it's made twice as long with the continued embarrassment of Condit:

The Condit story drowned out the whining over Campaign Finance "Reform".

The Condit story drowned out the whining over "Trial Lawyers Bill of Rights".

The Condit story has drowned out the whining over the "shrinking surplus".

If your job is to whine for a living, this situation is intolerable...
