Hi John,

I used to spar with you on the Intel thread, but since the market has tanked I've been spending more time watching Mike and the Mad dog on the Yes network than the completely mad Ron Insana and friends on CNBC.

Now I do my sparring with Mike Francesa concerning his buddy Bill Parcels. I was on the show (call in) yesterday contending among other things that Parcells receive favorable press from shills the likes of Mike and the Maddog, and that Parcells football acumen has been greatly over-rated. Specifically, I challenged the credit that Parcels is getting for drafting Chad Pennington. As I recall it, some other people were involved in drafting Pennington, and that Parcels was more interested in established quarterbacks like Vinnie Testeverde.

Of course, Mike cut me off immediately. Do you, or any one else on this thread remember the circumstances around the drafting of Chad Pennington by the NY Jets?
