It is possible but since then some things have changed ........... and that is budget deficits in EZ and you are mistaking the DM with low inflation and lets say Italy with triple inflation of France who is very strike prone.

The exchange rates were set artificially with out taking into account future developments, that is why IMHO the new currency the EUR started to slide.

The mistake me included was that I was thinking that the EUR is Germany and France and ignoring the other southern countries. In the process I lost substantially in on my DM - EUR holdings which are a decent amount
