Texas celebrates it's independence from Mexico, but Texas was it's own country for a few years and in theory can leave the Union. However any one who seriously suggests they are going to leave the union or that celebrating independence from Mexico is as big a deal as the 4th of July
is smoking something pretty strong. LOL! I have lived in five other states including California and other than Texas I have never seen any kind of independence celebrations except the 4th of July.
