[USRX/TI ..old news]

Pat,

I agree with Pigboy. The USRX/TI info (analog/ADSL modem) seems to
be old news.

We had talked earlier on the board about a USRX software migratible
architecture. As the article points out, this will not be
available until the middle of next year.

It's a preliminary understanding that the current Robotic's 56K
architecture is cannot support ADSL speeds without firmware changes.

(earlier post:http://www.techstocks.com/~wsapi/investor/s-1256/reply-17060)

Middle of next year seems quite far away today. I had thought they had wanted this archtiecture deployed by summer?

I would be worried if it were available much earlier...but by summer
next year ...1/2 the RBOCS and ISP's will have an ADSL solution
deployed.

IMHO... this is a typical USRX move to "freeze the ADSL modem market"
by announcing now what you will have in a year.

As I said before, when they announce a 56k/ADSL upgradeable modem
next year.. it's like walking into CompUSA and saying I'll take the
286 machine over the 486.
