So, if the 24/7 Trading explosion comes, the days of closing prices, the excitement of gap- up in the morning bid and the daily stock quote daily changes will be meaningless and such things will go out with the ticker tape machine, won't they?

So too, will much of the hype to 'hurry and buy' because why hurry? All the daily volume will be spread- out over 24 hours instead of the bankers' hours that the markets now enjoy. Rallies will be few and far between. Holding your position over the weekend will become something that even day-traders do, but of course, day- traders won't be called that anymore. Probably better termed 'night- traders' because once every moment of the day is a business hour for stock trading, the natural outcome would be that people would simply buy stocks then set their stop limits. A good strategy for the players in it for the quick buck would probably be those who would be testing or even trying to manipulate those stop limits in an effort to trigger picking- up cheaper shares, probably at the least busiest times of the day, i.e. the night.

Just my 2 cents worth, I don't yet have an opinion of whether the outcome of this would be good or bad, just feel that such a change will be revolutionary. I also don't have any ill feelings towards the short- term traders.
