IBUI closed strong on this mornings news - LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 21, 1999--Internet Business's
International, Inc. (OTCBB:IBUI) (www.ibui.net) today announced
details of an agreement with Microsoft's (Nasdaq:MSFT) MSN
(www.msn.com).
Under the terms of the agreement, Internet Business's
International has contracted for listings as a "Featured Site" when
any of 300 distinct keywords are entered into the MSN Search Engine.
As a "Featured Site" the links to IBUI's Web sites will be granted
premium placement in a specially reserved section on the MSN search
results Web page. According to the contract, the only links that can
share the Featured Site status for the designated keywords will be
those links directing users to Web sites owned by Microsoft itself.
IBUI has also disclosed that, as part of the same agreement, it has
contracted for banner advertising in the News, Entertainment and
Windows Media (www.windowsmedia.com) sections of MSN. The various
promotions are targeted to go into effect beginning January 1, 2000.
The MSN search engine is accessible not only by users of MSN, but
also by any user of an Internet-enabled computer. The site's search
engine has recently been redesigned to make it easy for everyone, not
just advanced users, to find the information they're looking for.
"I think we have all the pieces of the puzzle in place now,"
said Al Reda, CEO of Internet Business's International. "We've spent
months building the components of our Internet offerings and it's time
to begin promoting them. What better way to kick things off than by
aligning ourselves with the biggest player on the block?
"I've seen what MSN is offering," continued Reda, "and I can see
what the future holds in terms of their competitive advantages. I've
come away impressed. The marketing muscle of the MSN offering is just
the shot in the arm we need to put our eCommerce operations at the top
of the heap. We're busy right now preparing those 300 keywords to
stake out our territory. That means that we'll continue to get
advantageous positioning for however long it proves profitable to us."
