As an example, I pay my employees $20 or more per hour. They are skilled workers. The current spread between their wage and minimum is $12 plus per hour. If minimum pay is increased to $15, I should increase their pay to at least $30 per hour to maintain a skilled labor spread. Labor equals 25% of my costs, so I should therefore increase my prices to at least cover that increase...this example should be followed across the board eventually. It is fair. We will therefore have price increases across the board. What is the actual gain? Have you read any studies?
