I agree given the present numbers but, as we all know, this stuff is extremely unpredictable. It's very hard to see what it will all look like next spring or summer, once it's clear just who the Rep nominee is. With Europe as volatile as it is, lots of stuff gets flying around in the air and folk get hit with the strangest things. So, while I'm opposed to give backs on SS and medicare and much prefer dropping the cap on the taxable income amount, I don't see small cuts doing too much political harm. Bad for the country, but I'm not certain they represent a serious impediment to his reelection.
