[ Aware / USR / TI Questions ]

All, I only passively follow this subject. It seems to me that USR/TI have pulled the old Microsoft vaporware trick. By announcing this vapor technology, potential customers and competitors will shy away from any technology that may be incompatible with USR/TI. Why take the risk of being incompatible with the giants? It seems that this should be interpreted as a terrible blow for Amati. However, none of you seem to think that this announcement is significant. Why not? If Aware technology becomes the industry standard, what would be the impact on Amati's future? Also, what parterniships with larger companies are expected? I started reading this thread a couple of weeks ago when a huge deal with GTE was rumored. It seems that expected major deals keep melting away, but noboby loses faith. Obviously I'm missing something. Thanks for any help that you can provide.
