I finally got feed up enough to call roadrunner and see where the problem was. According to rr dialup connections use a different server to access SI. I'm rocking along on other sites and crawling on my knees with SI.

ps: I'm really glad I found SI (especially this thread) and joined, just a little pissed at the moment. :-)
