We are losing about one soldier a day right now. That adds up to 400 or 500 dead by the next election if we don't get it stopped. That would be a possible tipping point. I doubt it. With a coupla hundred thousand in peace time Germany our daily fatality rate was around 1-4. We lost on average at least 1 soldier every day in the major training areas. We left Vietnam only after losing over 100 per week (sometimes close to 300) for over two years and a total of over 50,000.
