I posted these comments over on the Fool Board for ASI (which appears to be a dead thread). A little overlap from my previous message but thought some of you might be interested:

Accustaff is undergoing significant changes under the modis family of companies it has created this past year. They are going to continue to breakout into higher ground for the next several years. The key here is that the modis part of the company has contains over 30 smaller companies which have been acquired the past year or so and have higher profit margins than the parent company. Accustaff temp services has low margins because temp services operate on high volume making a little from each contract whereas the modis entity is into A LOT more things than temping (Y2K, computer-based training, high-tech consulting, niche markets where the high tech big boys don't compete with them, etc.).

In fact, that's Accustaff's "grand plan." Get together a lot of successful smaller companies that don't have overlap and let their profits run. That and exposing their businesses to the international markets is going to create many new leverage opportunties.

Accustaff has been very aggressive this past year in acquisitions and will continue to be throughout this year. From the recent runup on no major news, I think that you're witnessing a reevaluation of its business plan and position in the marketplace.

Sidenote: They are continuing to expand their office space in
Jacksonville, FL. Wall Street investors are becoming
more frequent in their visits [AKA: They are "movin'
on up to the East Side."]

Enjoy the ride,

SCourt
