Imran!
NCN is relating to two of each other independent sources in the news from June 7:
"While it is too early to fully evaluate these developments, and NCN admits that this analysis is founded on very sparse facts, readers would do well to look for other signs of a "mid-course adjustment" by the Kabila government and a thawing in relations with the international community, especially the international investment community. This all comes at a time when there has been a feverish amount of regional diplomatic activity and public posturing involving most notably Uganda, the DR Congo, Zambia, the European Union, Belgium and South Africa with regard to regional relationships and regional evaluations of the lack of progress within the DR Congo.
NCN is cautiously optimistic that something good may evolve out of these events within the near future. The attitudes of the international financial community to a Congolese course-adjustment initiative will be as important as the initiative itself. It is hoped that planners in the international community are preparing for such an eventuality. As a general statement, it is believed that the international community is positioned to respond favorably to such an initiative."
