Ray,

just got back into US, was abroad.

looking at your charts link, PDG looks like MACD is a decent trending indicator for this stock, not too much whipsawing and false signaling.

as for your rule on conservative covering, didnt the MACD bar close slightly higher today then yesterday's bar?

i normally use a short term stochastics along with a longer term smoothing stochastic. this worked fantastic for me in the beginning of the year with semiconductor stocks but not anymore. like MACD, some indicators work well for certain stocks but sometime their personalities change and false signal are common.

what do u think of using MACD and stochastics? some says both are oscillators and therefore a waste of time.

one can short when MACD turns south and covers when stochastastics hits oversold. short again as long as MACD is downtrending when stochastics are slightly overbought and cover again at oversold.

Henry
