Many of the large tax cuts enacted since Bush took office are due to expire, most at the end of 2010. Were that to happen, federal revenue would increase by more than $1.4 trillion over the 2008-2017 period, according to Congressional Budget Office estimates.

It won't go up, it will go down. Federal revenue went up and we have a surplus because of this. Increase the tax and the economy will go down, people lose jobs, and they collect unemployment. The government loses revenue and increases payouts. Of course the democrats know this but they don't care. The point is simply to take from the rich and give to the poor for Socialism's sake.
