CDMA and GSM

mQ,

<< What is amazing is that GSM remains ascendant despite a couple of decades passing with such huge technological advantage for CDMA over GSM. I would not have believed it. >>

The reality is that the technological advantage may not be as "huge" as what you (or I or others) may have once perceived it to be, and the advantages it has had as commercially implemented in cdmaOne and CDMA2000 do not offset some deficiencies -- not the least of which is its overly proprietary nature, and its cost efficiency as opposed to spectral efficiency when TCO and ROI is calculated in a network operators technology choice decision matrix.
