William,

You have to 'understand' the greens.

A direct quote from the BBC:

The sad truth is that there are now too many people on this planet, both in the developed and developing world, to be sustained. To feed ourselves, we are already killing off species after species, the consequences of which are unknown but likely to be disastrous. In the end equilibrium will be achieved.. and billions will starve as a result. We are parasites on this world, and just like all parasites, we are slowly killing off our host and therefore putting our own future in jeopardy. It's not just food, as drinking water is in very short supply, as is land space. We have to control our population, or it will be controlled for us, resulting in mass starvation. I appreciate there are many other arguments but this is the one cause that nature is already addressing.

Funny how none of the greens volunteer to reduce the population. Its more convenient to let others die off.
