I don't know who brought it up, if anyone. But if what you are saying is true, to me it sounds like there was a good reason why the idea got ridiculed.

BTW are you familiar with Abraham? If so, how does Christianity perceive him.....what was his role in our religion?

I'm not sure what you are referring to in that question. Certainly he was the original ancestor of the Israelites and the Palestinians (or Philistines as they were known). Though he wasn't perfect, he is often seen as a role model of faith and leadership, as well as an example of how God keeps His promises to his people. The most celebrated example of his faith was when he was commanded by God to sacrifice his son Isaac, the one God promised to him and his wife even in their old age, and he almost went through with it before being stopped by an angel.
