Johnson said publicly in 1968 that whatever borders were finally agreed to "should not reflect the weight of conquest". The U.S. envisioned a virtually full withdrawal on all fronts, excepting only some possible "minor border adjustments" in the 1967 lines to straighten and rationalize boundaries. In fact, on the Egyptian front, under the 1979 peace treaty, Israel withdrew totally from the occupied Sinai Peninsula--a point not lost on other Arabs still negotiating their own agreements.

Given a table and negotiations it's fact that Israel has given concessions in the past.

That was the only concession and a small one at that. And it was made to Egypt in exchange for Egypt recognizing Israel, a major breakthough since Egypt is the most important state in the ME.

None of which benefitted the Palestinians. If you read the history, you will see that time after time, the Palestinians were screwed by the Jews and other Arabs alike because they were mainly sheepherders and farmers, and not very sophisticated. As Jozeph put it......the weak get screwed.....end of story.
