LindyBill, this reporting has some spin and factual errors. On the issue of gay marriage. Kerry said what he thinks in his opening statement of the reply. He said he would ask his Mass. legislators to distinguish the marriage as interpreted by the religious organizations such as the churches and those by our constitution and the courts. He said what Mrs. Braun said about her aunt being married to a White person, her White uncle, as she called it. The church recognized that marriage but a significant number of State laws banned that sort of inter racial marriage. The State constitution did not recognize it.

Separation of church and state. Separate the church interpretation of marriage and the Constitutions interpretation of marriage. Gay opponents are again trying to violate the constitution by merging the church and state.
