We weren't around. But humans were.

And if we've only got 10 years to adjust, as that article suggested, forget it. We don't have sufficient time. We might as well eat, drink, and be merry.

Are you willing to throw away modern technology and the US economy? That has very serious consequences too. Like dead people, riots, starvation, revolutions, dictators, wars, nukes, .....

You point to drastic consequences if something isn't done. There are drastic consequences if something is done, too. We'd better be quite sure which way this one is going.
