Brian: Not really. T has fibre trunkage as do those you have mentioned. To date the RBOC's have been enjoined from long haul and Quest WCOM et al have no distribution to speak of. The ability to deliver the service wholly contained through big pipes from end to end is the key here. Because of Judge Green no one has had the opportunity to do this since the break up. By analogy UPS and FedEx developed the distribution first than the trunkage the goal being to have the package delivered door to door wholly within their system. The distribution to the final addressee is the tough part the trunking is easy. It is so easy that a rail road, pipeline or engineering firm can transform itself to a trunk operator. If the RBOC's can get their acts together they could be the biggest threat to T. US West is a good example if they merge with GLBX.
