All Eyes on Wattenberg into PDCE, BCEI Analyst Meetings

All Eyes on the Wattenberg. Heading into next week’s PDCE analyst
meeting, as wells as BCEI’s the following week, the Wattenberg field will
take center stage, and we expect to get a lot more clarity on the resource
potential in the field. While stock performance year to date (PDCE +49%,
BCEI +39% vs. EPX +8%) indicates the growing optimism around the
stacked pay and infill potential, we argue the stocks still do not fully reflect
the size of the prize. As operators continue to successfully develop the
Niobrara B horizontally, Codell economics ultimately should be superior and
infill drilling and Niobrara A and C exploration continue to drive resource
upside. The Wattenberg continues to offer investors one of the best “rate of
change” stories in US E&P, and with few ways to gain exposure to the play
we expect PDCE and BCEI to continue to outperform the E&P peer group.
