Bur seriously, though, Andy, I like to boldly go where no newbie's gone before (well, actually, I'll bet a lot are going there, too), to plunge into these inscrutable formulas. It helps me learn the language of formulas. I never use them in trading. For trading, I rely on much simpler indicators and formulas that I've had experience with. Even if I only really understand triads and 7th chords, it doesn't stop me from occasionally experimenting with the odd flat 9th, sharp 13th. It might not be the best way to learn, but I can't resist jumping in. In the meantime, I'm reading everything I can find about TA -- and as I said, refraining from sinking any dollars into mysterious systems such as Rainbow Charts.
