I am a regular swimmer. I swim for an hour or so most days. My hair is not treated in any way. I don't even blow dry it. Virgin hair, as hairdressers say. But the chlorine still raises the cuticle, particularly on the finer hair around my ears and neck. It feels coarse and gummy. It feels like the hair you pull out of your drain after you've added the Drano. I've tried all sorts of things with it including swim shampoos and slathering it with olive oil and covering it with a double cap. The chlorine eats at it anyway over time no matter what I do.

I've settled upon Redken Hair Cleansing Creme and Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal for dry/damaged hair. They do a good job of getting the chlorine out and smoothing the cuticle. The Pantene, which I only started using recently, even gives me the shine back. Except for those fine hairs underneath, so I'm trying the silicone serum, which had better work given how long I stood in line waiting to buy it. I hope I haven't bored anyone terribly but maybe there's a lurker out there who is looking for the perfect conditioner...
