I think no. In the end, history has shown that market is always going to go up in the long run. 2009 is 4 years ago. Things have changed. More population needs more market products and more innovation brings the same in the lower cost. I think this is the fundamental reason why stock market goes up. Whatever we see in-between is the hickups of emotions, I believe!
