Offshore, I don't buy leaps anymore but I probably will start because Canada retirment accounts only allow 20% foreign content and you pay a monthly penalty on any excess. I paid a lot of these penalties. For me Leaps are going to be a way to cut down my foreign content down to 20%----because the price i pay for the options is considering the foreign holding not the price of the shares.

I am just a little concerned about 2000 leaps because of the Y2K (panic/fear/uncertaintly). I will be selecting 2001 leaps on Microsoft. Of course, I will wait for the right opportunity to buy these and hold them. I am going to get away from trading options next month.
