08:00 ET Nortel Networks (NT) 16.95: -- Update -- A Wall St Journal article on NT today largely chronicles the company's already known woes, but also elicits a few telling comments from CEO John Roth, who says that after the huge debt build-up for telecom carriers in the past few years, it's time to "pay the piper." Roth says that the shake-out required in the carrier market could "prolong" Nortel's pain.
