The idea of Intel selling basic PC's suggets that they would have mismanaged their business to the point where they are desparate to sell their CPU's. This is best left for companies like Cyrix.

Why would they ever want to enter this low margin business when they have people like IBM, GATEWAY, DELL, COMPAQ, HP, PACKARD-BELL, etc. doing the work for them? They are not a consumer oriented bussiness.

INTC is a state of the art leading edge development company not a commodity product vendor. All of their resources should be directed toward continued hi-tech development.

IMHO, the idea of INTC selling PC's IS more than "outrageous". I'm sure glad you are not part of INTC's managment team.

Should MSFT enter the PC business so that they can sell more Windows?
