Intel's guidance shows they believe H2 will be strong. Why on earth wouldn't you want them to prepare for it?


That would make sense, except for the fact that Andy Bryant admitted on the conference call that the inventory buildup was excessive and that he wished that Intel had reacted a month earlier. You don't build up a quarter's worth of inventory when inventory depreciates as fast as it does. Additionally, Intel now has excess capacity. The only reason for Intel to intentionally build inventory in a quarter is if they're capacity constrained. Again, that stated specifically that they're slowing production, so they're clearly not capacity constrained.
