Gr&St,

Some of your points are valid and some are way off base. I think you need to go back and read more posts regarding the history behind Vivus and its management's decisions to better understand some of the more recent posts you have probably read. In respond to your points.

1)Please point out exactly where you read that Wilson has been working for free the past 9 months? If so that is good. He should be paying Vivus for the on job training. Others you have mentioned (eg Dr Christ) are researchers and not executives. I have never criticized any researcher.

2)I never claimed to be an officer of the company nor do I pretend to be one. Wilson claimed that there were "significant developments" in the negotiations. I don't think he should bait investors unless he has some solid information to reveal. "significant progress" can mean different things to different people. I suggested that at a certain point in time I believe that if Vivus has not been able to cut a deal they nead to explain to the investors why. IMO 6 months is plenty of time for Vivus to tell us more on what exactly has materialized. I see huge multi billion dollar companies manage mergers/aquisitions in a matter of months. Vivus is but a tiny biotech company and not some multi billion dollar conglomerate.

3)Agreed.

4)Nobody here ever said there was no pressure. It comes with the job. If Leland can't take the heat, he needs to step down and let someone else who can take it do his job.

5)Leland proved his incompetence by believing that he could take on Pfizer by hiring on the 150 rent-a-reps. This blunder cost Vivus millions and did absolutely nothing for MUSE sales. Your comments on Astra/Zeneca are well taken but again it is speculation concerning the merger's effect on any supposed partnering deal.

6)You made no sixth point. I guess you are superstitious about the "devil's number.

7)Agreed.

8)You haven't owned this stock to understand the share holder frustration seen here. If you owned Vivus since late 1997, you would be singing another tune. It's easy for you to waltz in and buy up Vivus under $3.00/share and then criticize the criticism of share holders who need to see anywhere between $8.00 to $27.00/share just to break even.

9)Agreed. Otherwise I would not be here.

Finally, <<where is that marketing partner?>> Hush hush now about this marketing partner stuff. We certainly wouldn't want to put Leland under any undue stress. After all, he has only had 7 months to sign a favorable marketing deal. Let's all be real nice and give this poor soul who is supposedly working for free(we get what we pay for) another 7 months to make some more "significant progress".
