HJM: re amzn buying cdnow -- i don't think so. where will it get them? sunk costs for starting up their own music effort only to pay thru the nose for cdnow (and all those costly associate agreements). also, cdnow, given its stock price's untimely demise is prob not dumb enuff to accept amzn stock in place of cash ... but hey, i'm happy for the dilution if it occurs (i'm sure that the acquisition will do wonders for the spread on their junk bonds) lp
