{OFF Subject} re: Microsoft's Download Wizard

Nice link but if you don't want Big Brother Bill looking at all the data on your computer you might just update things by hand. Did you notice this little bit of fine print in the users agreement

1. GRANT OF LICENSE. This EULA grants you the following rights:
To utilize the Download Wizard for the purpose comparing files on your computer to those in the Microsoft Software Library for the purpose of presenting additional SOFTWARE PRODUCT(s).
To download and use a copy of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT(s) on a single computer.

As a condition of utilizing the Download Wizard for the referenced purposes, you consent to allow the viewing of data on your computer. By manifesting your consent to view, or allow the viewing of data, you warrant and represent that you are authorized to give such consent .
The Download Wizard and the SOFTWARE PRODUCT may be used only in conjunction with validly licensed copies of Microsoft(r) Windows(r) 9x operating systems.

I've been told/read the same thing happens when you register any Microsoft product via the inernet.

No thanks Bill I'll keep things to myself
