I think Mitt will be his own man as President. Especially in the first term if he wants a second--just like Obama is courting the middle and not giving the left everything it wants.

Now for the second term, I think the fact that he is independently wealthy will give him the freedom to write his own political legacy, and since he is, IMHO, not an ideologue, I think it will be a balanced one.

Unless something happens in SC and Florida to upset him Romney's probably going to be the nominee, and although it's a long way between here and November Obama is going ot be hard pressed to recreate the energy and enthusiasm that let him detach a couple of Republican States (NC, VA) in the prior election.

May be close vote, but unless jobs appear President Romney it will be.
