Don,

There seems to be a widely held opinion on the Web that MM's run the market, and everything bad that happens to a stock can be blamed on them.

I'm old enough to not believe that.

They don't have the money to stand in the way of good old fashioned buying or selling.

Don't get me wrong, they can have a short term effect. The NASDAQ system has been carefully constructed to allow them to prey on the public for eighths and quarters (sometimes more).

I think that the ask side trades you talk about could be them shorting prior to an expected decline. They can short on upticks, and know when there are more sell orders than buy orders coming in.

Just my opinion.

Dwight (And Nasdaq and the SEC can kiss my a$$)
