No aggression intended, just pointing out facts. I apologize if I struck a nerve. Bear: (alternate definition) a nickname for an investor, who thinks the market is headed inexorably south.. David, your thesis all along is that the long term trend is up. Otherwise, you would not be waiting to buy back in at the bottom. Could it be that the market is both in bear and in bull simultaneously? Hmmm, how can you handle that? You never really understood this post: I distrust any forecasting of economic conditions by what appear to be appeals to past market behavior, given "selected" parameter values or states. These types of forecasts are simply guesses, which, of course, are necessarily dependent on the state of mind of the individual guessing.
